Pilot’s notes
The blade is twisted — washout along its length — because the tip travels far faster than the root, and only a decreasing blade angle keeps the angle of attack even across the span. Built up from glued hardwood laminations and armored at the leading edge against stones and rain, a wood prop is light and forgiving, but it is treated as live at all times: a hot magneto needs no key to fire.
Airmanship · watch for
A prop is never off
A broken P-lead can leave a magneto hot with the switch at OFF — never move a blade you would not want to start, and never stand in its arc.
